Craft and Chatter is a small group for anyone interested in knitting, sewing, crochet, beading and other assorted crafts.
The group originally started with the aim of making items for the annual Church Autumn Fair but has now continued throughout the year making a variety of items of interest to the group, as well as items for local charities including hats, cardigans and blankets for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit, Easter chicks and seagulls to raise money for Turning Point (was previously Worthing Homeless Project), Easter baskets with eggs to support Ukraine, knitted items for the Christmas shoe boxes for ‘Link to Hope’ and blankets for local care homes.
We have also organised the ‘angel bombing’ of knitted angels around Southwick to spread the real meaning of Christmas to our local area, arranged the ‘Nativity trail’ in local shops and houses too, post box toppers at Christmas plus the ‘valentine’s hearts earlier this year.
The group is open to all levels of skill from total beginners to experienced experts.
We meet on some Tuesday mornings between 10.00 and 12.00 in the large hall. Please come in through the Southwick Street entrance.
Our next meetings are Tues 30th July, then 3rd and 24th September, 8th, 22nd and 29th October, 19th Nov, 3rd and 17th December 2024.
We are a friendly group who will always welcome new members of all abilities.
Why not come along and even bring a friend too?
