The Mixer-Amplifier

The mixer-amplifier can produce 80 watts of mono audio output. Stereo input from the mini-jack, phono or CD player sockets is converted to mono audio.

The mixer-amplifier has been set up so that it is not necessary to change settings or wiring for normal operation. If you find it necessary to change anything please restore it to the standard at the end of your session.

All cables and sockets on the mixer-amplifier are labelled.

It has 5 inputs:

  • Hand-held microphone
  • Mini-jack
  • Phono
  • Lapel microphone
  • CD player (to be replaced by DVD player)

It has 4 outputs:

  • Front (or Stage) main speakers
  • Side main speakers
  • Hearing loop
  • Recording socket
Standard Mixer-Amplifier Settings

This diagram is attached for reference below the mixer-amplifier.

Rationale for the settings
  • Equaliser (LOW HIGH controls) are set to a flat frequency response on all channels.
  • The “effects” (EFX and DIGITAL DELAY controls) are turned off. The only effect available is reverberation and in my opinion the hall already has more than enough.
  • The volume levels (LEVEL TAPE and MASTER controls) have been set to give a suitable level of sound at the mid-range of the speaker volume knobs on the socket panel for my test samples. I hope that you can find a suitable level for your inputs with the speaker volume knobs and not have to change the amplifier settings.
If sound is not working
  • Check that the speaker volume knobs on the socket panel are set.
  • Check that the amplifier power light is on.
  • check that all settings are correct and cables are connected correctly.
