The Girls’ Brigade is an International Christian Organisation for Girls from 4 to 18 years of age. Our motto is to Seek, Serve and Follow Christ. We help girls towards this outcome through various activities including Devotions and Bible Stories, Craft activities, Cooking, Games, Athletic and Swimming Competitions, Sleepovers and Camps. We have lots of fun!
Here at Southwick Methodist Church, we are open every Tuesday evening, in term time, throughout the year and our age groups are as follows:-
Explorers (n:vestigate group). Pre school and Reception children (ages 4+) – 5.45 to 6.45pm. School Years 1 and 2 – 5.45 to 7.15pm.
Juniors (n:gage group). School Years 3,4,5,6 – 5.45 to 7.15pm
Seniors (n:counta group). School Years 7,8,9 – 7.15 to 9.00pm
During the year, we take part in many local and national events. This year, we have taken part in Trooping the Colour in London in June and a District Camp in August. We enter an annual craft competition, athletics competition, swimming gala and have various fun days and sleepovers. We have recently held an evenings entertainment (Southwick’s Got Talent) to raise funds for one of our girls who is taking part in a school trip to visit Africa to work in the local schools and community. We also support our church in its own fund raising events and activities.
FUTURE EVENTS :- Church Fare, Christmas Celebrations, New Year Party, Spring Sleepover, Craft Competition, Fun Day, Sports Competition, Summer outings and District Camp.
